Hollowmere
"Midnight. Wait. Now it's our turn."
A cute horde slasher in third person. Think Luigi's Mansion meets Left 4 Dead, with a sword. Then play it again in New Game+.
Halloween night. A letter lies under the door of your old family house. Your family hunts monsters, like Van Helsing. Tonight you are alone, with Grandfather's sword. It is also a gun.
At midnight the uninvited come: through the doors, the windows, the fireplaces and the floor. You cannot hold the house. Fight, go up floor by floor and stay alive until the end.
How it plays
- One weapon, two modes: the sword for the crowd, the gun for ghosts and big monsters. The gun shoots grenades. Ammo comes from kills only.
- Hordes of zombies, rats, spiders, beetles, bats, skeletons, witches, gremlins and ghosts.
- 3 places, 3 bosses: the Witch Queen in the Hall, a huge ogre in the Library, and a vampire on the roof at night.
- Turn the wheel to open the way. Start the machine gun to help you. On the roof, hold on until the helicopter comes.
- Skills: jump and hit everything around you, burn monsters with fire, drink a potion. Kills fill the potion.
- Pick runes to make your skills stronger.
- After each level: your score and a rank, S, A, B or C. 15 achievements. Get them all for a silver suit.
- Finish the night, then play again in New Game+ (NG+): you keep every skill and rune, the monsters get stronger each night, and you get more runes.
- Find a ghost jar and a doll in every level.
- A storyteller tells the story in rhyme. The portraits on the walls tell who held this sword before you.
- Plays in the browser. Best on a PC with a mouse and keyboard. A phone works too.

Use Chrome or Edge. In the browser settings, turn on "Use graphics acceleration when available". Use headphones. If the game is slow, set Graphics to Low in Settings. If it is too dark, raise Brightness.

Credits and AI disclosure
A game by Black Two Games. Created by ku113p: game design and direction, architecture and tech stack, art and sound direction, mockup reviews and revisions, playtesting. Everything Black Two Games did not make by hand is listed here.
- Code, texts, tests and build tools: AI-generated, directed by Black Two Games.
- Images in the game (title art, story pictures, level cards, paintings, achievement icons): no AI images. They are the studio's own renders of the game itself, made by the studio's own scripts (AI-generated). The first concept art (not in the game) was made with Google Gemini 3.1 Flash Image and OpenAI GPT Image 2.
- Music (AI-generated, most of it): 19 tracks made with Google Lyria 3 (via OpenRouter), from the studio's own text prompts. Black Two Games only cut, looped and mixed them. 3 boss stingers mix more Lyria 3 takes with the studio's own game sounds. 17 more files (drums and small stingers) are made by the studio's own code with CC0 samples from the Versilian Community Sample Library.
- The storyteller's voice is AI-generated: Google Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS, voice "Gacrux" (via OpenRouter), reading the studio's own rhymed texts (21 lines).
- Sound effects: recordings from the free libraries below, cut, layered and mixed by the studio's own code. One sound is AI-generated: the gremlin's giggle (ElevenLabs v3 via OpenRouter, then changed by the studio's code). No other sound effect is AI-made.
- 3D models: every character body and animation is from the Quaternius packs Universal Base Characters and Universal Animation Library 1 and 2 (CC0). The studio's own Blender scripts make the looks, clothes, weapons, monster shapes and the helicopter. The mansion, the small props and the effects are built in code.
- 3D Assets by Just Create Studio — https://justcreate3d.studio/ (Stylized Nature and Stylized Weapons, GameDev.tv Halloween Jam 2026 licence): the trees, bushes, rock and stump round the house, and the sword, axe, dagger, hammer, stave and shield trophies, the weapon rack and the log pile.
- Furniture and props (CC0): KayKit (Kay Lousberg, kaylousberg.com): Halloween Bits, Furniture Bits, Dungeon Remastered, Restaurant Bits. Quaternius Fantasy Props MegaKit. What data the game sends
- A visit counter (GoatCounter, no cookies). It counts visits and a few game steps: started, came back another day, level done, first death on a level, started NG+, graphics level. Like any website, it also sees your browser, system, screen size and the site you came from. No name, no score, no player ID.
- The online table, only if you press Post online after the finale: the name you type (or Anonymous), your score and run details, and the game version. Nothing without your click.
- Best runs, settings and achievements stay in your browser.

Thanks!
So its entirely AI with bought assets.. "Everything Black Two Games did not make by hand is here", brother after that list is there actually anything that was made by hand? Rather read a list of those to be honest.
the whole game design (every mechanic, level and balance number), the architecture and the tech stack, the direction and review of every model, sound, text and screen, and the playtesting and tuning
nothing is bought: the bases are free CC0 packs, the jam's own packs and free sound libraries, all named in the list
I kept that list long on purpose so nobody has to guess
by the way, yours is the first comment I’ve received on itch
I’m extremely grateful that you took an interest in my game
